If you’re looking for a well decorated, well thought out weekend escape from KL then Villa Takun is a great option. Perfect for a celebration, this retreat offers glamping in caravans or A frames or suites inside the main building. It has a small pool with sunbeds, a movie room and a communal outdoor area.
We were here for one night to celebrate Alice’s birthday and we were looking for a special experience for a special number. We arrived early at midday and were welcomed with a drink. We were able to use the pool area until check in and the staff were happy to secretly decorate the room for us and store the cake for us.
The room was huge. It was so nicely decorated and such a great space. There’s complimentary tea, a coffee machine, soft drinks, snacks and robes. It really felt like a special experience.
The glamping grounds consists of a few A frame cabins and a couple of caravans. There is a cafe and a coffee van. We didn’t use the cafe because we ordered grab food but they had a selection of dinner options. For some reason all the ingredients had been masking taped over “because we can’t promise you what’s inside it”, but if breakfast is anything to go by, it was probably good food. There’s bbq options for the evening and places to sit in the garden. There’s archery and bubbles as well!
The best thing about this place was the ducks and goats! You can go inside the goat enclosure and play with them. Very cute but one did head butt me and leave me bruised!
We also had a balcony bath tub with a bath bomb and rubber ducks.
For breakfast we had a choice of options but there was also a buffet with toast, cereal, croissants and fruit. They then brought us hash browns, corn on the cob, salad and mushrooms as well. Other people staying over didn’t seem to understand how toasters worked and it was very anxiety inducing watching people shove multiple pieces of bread into one slot and then poke it with metal tongs without pressing the cancel button. Wild.
It was so nice to play games, have a few drinks and celebrate Alice’s birthday. The perfect place for a night away. The staff were great and the whole place was really well put together.
